The little fellow is now officially a slagger at home for 10 days. Don't get it wrong....he's not skipping school at a young age but b'cos school is closed for these few days due to the HFMD. Some kids in the school has gotten the virus and they decided to close to disinfect the place.

Teachers gave some homework to do and we were not informed initially personally by the teacher so when the little fellow insisted on taking his school books to write, poor little fellow was stopped by Mummy and Ah Mah.

Luckily, teacher called 2 days later to inform so now Mummy knows that the little fellow was misunderstood......

Anyway, homework all done so it's time to slag!

Sorry to have disappear for quite awhile but Mummy was having problems with her IE and she got to wait for Daddy to fix it for her (Daddy was away in China for half a month and was very busy after he got back). So at long last, Daddy fix the problem for her yesterday so an update today.

Mummy will be updating the blog soon but got to give her time coz she busy with work and feeling sick at the same time.

Woa...time passes real fast. It's that time of the year again...YUP, it's Gavin's birthday!! Both Daddy and Mummy decided to host the event separately at Ah-Mah's house and Po-po's house so that we can save some brain cells from deciding where to host as it's a rather big group. So this year, the little fellow can enjoy 2 cakes and we decided to order a Thomas Train cake and a car cake for him. Will post pics of the cakes at a later date.

We'll also be giving out goodie bags at his school. Sort of a pay-back coz the little fellow has been receiving quite a few from his classmates since beginning of the year. Mummy went around shopping for some goodies and decided to packed it this afternoon. Quite a treat with goodies to eat, a pencil and a cute disney character rubber...

Hopefully the children will love it. Sad that the school does not allow them to bring in the cakes...strictly speaking, we can bring the cake, cut but no eating so we see no point in ordering a cake for school. Maybe next year when he goes PCF Nursery....*ponder*

it's been raining cats and dogs recently, all the more when it's time for school! So it's happy umbrella time for the little fellow (he LOVES umbrella) but as it's really heavy rain, we added a raincoat so that he won't get drenched. It is a handsome Barney raincoat, in fact, there are other children who saw him walking to school with the Barney raincoat and started pestering their parents for the raincoat!! *LOL*

Took the little fellow to the playground at the park near Po-po's house as it's a bigger one. He really love it and was very impatient to getting up the swing. For those who didn't know, he had tried the swing months ago but couldn't manage it. So we are mildly surprised that he could master the swing within 2nd try that day....motor skills improving...*grin*

went swimming when Hua Yi-yi rented a bungalow chalet for Uncle Chua's birthday (i know it's a couple of months ago....) and the little fellow was real excited with the pool and pestered Uncle Chua to swim together.

Our German relatives came back for their 3-yearly trip and we had a gathering at Grandaunt Catherine's house. The little fellow took a while to warm up to them, but soon had much fun with them. Think he's going to miss them when they go back to Germany.

Recently the little fellow is trying to learn more new stuff and helping around the house....talk about growing up.....Anyway, he wasvery interested when he saw his Ah-ma sweeping the floor he has ever since requested to sweep the floor (when he's mood comes...*faint*). Well....it's something that's good to learn so we let he do it. He has also started doing some plant watering...but will have to load that pic sometime later coz we did not have the chance to take it yet...*smile sheepishly*

To day is the NDP's Preview so we went to Marina Square to catch the fireworks. Gavin has been bugging everyone to take him to see the fireworks since he last saw it 2 weeks ago...

Anyway, Peng Yi-Yi wanted to go and take the photos and Daddy has to work (he's involved in the NDP) so Gavin boy, Po-Po and Mummy decided to tack along. The moment we reached the shopping mall, Mummy went to book a table at the MOF so that we could see the fireworks while we have dinner. Luckily we are regulars at the restaurant so they gave special allowance for us to book a table..*laugh*

When the fireworks came, Hua-Yi and Uncle Chua (they decided to come along to see the fireworks too) brought the little fellow out to see it. It was awesome!! This year's fireworks is even better than the ones we had last year! And the little fellow had a great time ooh-haa-ing at the fireworks. When Peng Yi Yi came to meet us after the fireworks, the little fellow "volunteered" to carry her tripod and had a great time carrying the bag. We thought he looked cute pretending to be a swordsman and took a few pics of him....

Maybe it's another career alternative for him in the future.....?

I know we haven't been regular with our updates but with members of the family going down with something one after another, let's just say we were simply too caught up to do something to the blog...

Here's some updates:

Had been bringing the little fellow to the library for some time now and he is enjoying it enormously. Well, I figure it will be better to bring him there rather than borrow the books home myself but the cons was that I had to spent the better part of my afternoon there with him choosing the books that he wanted! There were so many books so he was spoiled with choices and didn't know which to get. In the end I had to put my foot down and chose the three books that he seemed to be more interested in. Anyway, he prefer animal books....

The books were a good distraction especially when the cousins came and the three fighting over toys. Out came the books and all three sat there quietly like three good kids (like real....) reading the books. Luckily, this was the one thing all three were willing to share without so much of a noise. *faint*

Brought the little fellow and family to Esplanade for a pre-Mother's Day dinner @ Ichiban Boshi and was walking at the riverside after dinner. They had boxed up the whole stretch of the riverside for some renovation works so there wasn't much to admire. We tried to go to the part where there were no blockage but a gang of teenagers were puffing away so we decided to move away. Decided to proceed to Marina Square for a walk when we came across some of the artifacts that were along the walkway and the kids were so fasinated by them that they went over for a touch which then became a hug....Tell me about Art Appreciation....*faint*

The little fellow also got a motorised toy motor bike from Daddy's friend recently. It was a hand-me-down that his son was too big for. Anyway, We took the motor bike to Po-Po's house as Ah-Mah's house can no longer house the toy. (Remember the toy car that we have there?) Well, he loves the bike too and enjoys playing it and pretending to be a policeman.

Remember the toy car that Gavin had for his 1st birthday? Well, we shifted it over to Grandma's house since we are there all the time now so it makes more sense to shift it there so that he can play with it.

Well, one playing is too boring....so little Charmaine joins in the fun. Seeing them playing the car together really is too cute. Couldn't resist taking the pics and posting it.

Daddy had to perform at a park opening last Saturday and we decided to go and join in the fun as there was a carnival on too. There wasn't much games but the little fellow had fun playing the games and even won 2 prizes at the games (with some help, of course...).

There was a civil defence and police road show and Gavin had fun sitting on the fire-fighting jeep and the police van.

Took quite awhile to upload these photos as we were quite busy, what with school, work and the upcoming new year...Nevertheless, we had spent a cold but lovely winter in Japan and enjoyed ourselves very much.

Has been appreciating free'n'easy trips more and more since Gavin was born and even more now with the cousins going on trips with us. We defintely had more time to do what we want and what we like. Disneyland and DisneySea was great and Gavin enjoyed himself even more than he did when we went to Disney HongKong. And what Gavin enjoyed most in Japan was.....THE FOOD!!! He had already love Jap food while we were in Singapore but the Jap food in Japan was simply heaven!! He was so in love with the food that I did not had much of a complaint from him when I asked him to sit for meals...

Took Gavin and family to the aquarium at the hotel too, was not a big one but Gavin and his cousins loved the dolphins and sea-lions shows and we had some enjoyable time there. In fact, the 3 kids were looking so adorable with their winter wear, quite a few Japanese girls requested to take pictures with them!!

Gavin even had a memorable experience at the airport just before we board the plane for Singapore. We were at the security checkpoint at the immigration area and we were suppose to take off our belongings so that we can cross the metal detector. So while the adults were busy, the Little Fellow was also busy.....taking off his.....SHIRT!!!! Everyone was shocked and the Jap officers were laughing at the little boy. Well..that's something to recount back when he's older, won't it???

Starting of the new year means something extra this year for little Gavin cos' he is starting school! Mummy and Daddy are very excited, yet worried that he is unable to adjust...

Has been a few days already. started off shakily...and with tears (by Gavin) of course, but he is gradually adjusting and adapting to school life. Time for Independence!!!

In Loving Memory...Dr Toh Wai Keong

We had had a very sad weekend as we learnt the news of our beloved GP, Dr Toh Wai Keong's passing on Friday. We were shocked when we learnt the news from the shop owners at our area, especially when Gavin had just saw him on Thursday morning for his flu vaccine. Dr Toh was very nice and comforted Gavin so that he was relaxed enough for the jab. I was getting ready to get my own vaccine done on the coming Monday, but now no more.

Dr Toh was more than a doctor to the residents of Anchorvale. He was like a friend to many and was concerned about everyone that came to see him. So many were sadden by the sudden passing, unable to accept this shocking news. (http://www.todayonline.com/articles/155943.asp; http://sg.news.yahoo.com/061122/5/singapore242852.html)

Gavin was also very comfortable with him although he started seeing Dr Toh only this year. Whenever we need to bring him to see Dr Toh, he will say he is going to visit "Uncle Doctor" to take sweet. (even though he doesn't eat sweets). Also when Gavin misbehave in the clinic, Dr Toh did not even get angry. Dr Toh also made the effort to ask after everyone in the family whenever someone went to see him. He also made calls when we were sick to ask after us. Where can you find another doctor that was so dedicated, friendly and with no "air"???

His hearse passed by Anchorvale yesterday before proceeding to the Mandai Crematorium and we went to sent him off on his last journey. Many were sobbing uncontrollably when his hearse was sighted. This morning I asked Gavin, "Do you missed Uncle Doctor?" He nodded his head and lean into me, somehow sensing the meaning behind my question.

Dr Toh....you shall be greatly missed by the residents of Anchorvale neighbourhood.

As promised, here is a picture of me in my bathing suit. Handsome??? I had a great time at the pool and mummy says that I am getting better at swimming with the float. It's been a while since I have been blogging cos everyone has been busy with things here and there recently. So here I am trying to think of something nice to write on this gloomy wet afternoon (the sky has finally decided to "cry" after one whole morning).

I am starting to learn quite a few words and in a few languages in fact (English, Chinese, Hokkien & Teochew) and everyone is quite happy about it. In fact, I am already very experienced in using a few specific words like "mai" (which means no in hokkien & teochew), "go" (in english) and etc. These are very helpful in communicating with the people around me. Until the next new word that I learn, these will suit me nicely for the time being....

New Year's Eve

Today is the last day of Chicken Year & we are welcoming the Year of the Dog. Mummy & Ah Mah prepared a big feast tonight & they called it the "reunion dinner". Everyone came and we had dinner together. Sure was crowded!! Best of all, I've got plenty of new clothes to wear for today and for the next few days!!

Chinese New Year is coming & this is gonna be my 2nd year celebrating the festival. Can't say I did celebrate it last year coz' I can't really remember what had happened (come on...what can you expect from a 4-month old babe, right?)

So, this year I'll be celebrating it with a big bang! Am ready with lotsa new clothes, a pair of new shoes & a new bag!! Mummy & Daddy are also getting ready lotsa goodies for Daddy's students who are coming over for a visit during the festival. Wonder will I have a share in the goodies....????

Little Fellow under the Sea

Yup, yup! We went under the sea yesterday. To be accurate, we went to the Underwater World @ Sentosa. Lotsa fishes & sea creatures that I haven't seen before. And they were HUGE!!!

Went over to the Dolphin Lagoon too to watch the pink dolphins. But "Old Uncle Sky" wasn't in a good mood so we had to watch the show in the rain.... luckily, a nice uncle offered to share his umbrella with me.

I was rather disappointed when the day ended. Let's hope that we can go back there soon!!

Little fellow's Oriental Experience

As promised & by great demand, pics of our Hong Kong trip are finally ready.

We were in Hong Kong for a week and the whole experience was quite refreshing. Not to mention my first plane ride which I took quite well (except for the night plane ride home cos' I didn't like them turning off the lights!!). My favourite destination was the Hong Kong Disney & I particularly like the "Golden Mickeys" live show. Mummy was quite worried intially that I would be terrified by the loud sounds and big creatures running around but I took to it like a duck in the water. It was actually quite interesting & I was quite disappointed when it ended. There was also the 3D show which was also fun as they had great effects!! I was all wet from the water that the Donald Duck splashed onto the audience!!!

Ocean Park was fun too. Daddy & Mummy won quite a few prizes for me at the amusement area and I had a great time with them!! The cable car from the headlands (hilltop) to the lowlands (bottom of the hill) was hair-raising as the ride was very rocky due to the strong wind. Mummy was all white in the face when we reached and I overheard her saying that her knees are feeling wobbly... Shame on you, Mummy!!!! :-P

My favourite pastime is to see the buses on the streets of Hong Kong. Do you know that they have so many different types of buses there??!!! I was so trilled to see them that I learned to say the word "bus" at Hong Kong!!!!

I'm starting to learn drinking from a cup and it's really very fun!! Mummy don't really allow me to hold the cup on my own yet cos' I tend to shake the cup & water will all spill out!

Today I refused to let Mummy hold my cup for me but there is little water so Mummy is not so afraid of me spilling the water. YeeYee played Yam Seng with me & it was really noisy with us keep banging the cups together. But it was real fun!!! We should do this often....

I had a big big fall on my head yesterday morning. Well...part of it was my own fault cos I was feeling yaya over finally learning to walk & it got over my head. I was walking pretty fast on my own in the house when I turned to see if Mummy was catching up & whoops!!! You know how the story went...
Mummy was horrified & when she describe my fall to the family, she said it looked like I was doing the "backward bungee jump". Well...interesting description to something like that, huh??

Anyway, I was quite tramautised by the incident & refuses to walk on my own today. Mummy was quite upset but PoPo & Ah Mah says that I will forget over time. That I ponder.....

National Day for Singapore falls on today & I celebrated it by watching the parade on the TV. We happened to spend the holiday at PoPo's house & decided to join in the fun at the Yishun celebration area. Luckily I woke up from my late nap just in time for Mummy, Daddy & PoPo to rush down to the field nearby to watch the fireworks. It wasn't as pretty as the fireworks that I saw on Sat but it was exciting enough for a housing estate firing.

Sure was a memorable one for me!!

For the first time of my very young life, I saw fireworks! In conjunction with National Day, there is a series of celebration down at the Marina South & tonite is the opening day so they started it with a show of the fireworks. I was lucky enough to be able to catch it as I was shopping at Suntec with Mummy & PoPo.

It was a real eye-opener to see the beautiful fireworks from the Portugal team! Too bad Daddy (at work), Auntie Hua & Uncle Hanpeng (at home) could not see the beautiful sight...

Wow... a lot of birthdays this month to celebrate!! Today is Ah Mah's turn to be the birthday girl....ummm..I mean lady.

Anyway. we treated her to a hi-tea buffet @ the Marriotts Hotel for this special day of hers & we had a great time there. The food was fantastic & best of all... the waitressess there are sooooo.. friendly!! I had a great time playing with them & I was even given a special treat of choc biscuit by one of the waitresses when I started yelling for nap time. That made me stop for a while....to eat the biscuit, of course!! :-P

We went for some shopping around the area while waiting for Daddy (He went off for some OT work). When Daddy came back, we bought a cake to further celebrate at home. Ah Mah was very happy today.

Today, Jamie celebrates her birthday with a popiah party & we were all invited to attend her party. Daddy & Mummy bought a electric piano for her and PoPo bought her a set of prety pink clothes. Jamie loves the piano that Daddy & Mummy gave her, so did Linus. They were happily playing with it. I was very happy with it too as it played interesting rythms & songs and i danced to the tunes. Everyone was so tickled by the way I rocked to the tune.

I was also basking in the attention that I was given & refused to sleep and I was so tired that I slept immediately in Daddy's car when we finally went home for the day... zzz...

Little Charmaine

As I seems so much better, Daddy & Mummy decided to take me to the semi-finals of the brestfed baby contest as intended before with Auntie Hua accompanying us. There were so much babies around & I was so excited. Again there were a few nice nice aunties that Mummy called the judges. Anyway, they were so nice, they gave me some mini buns and raisins. But....I was more interested in the paper plate that held the raisins and mini buns!

Godpa & family were there to give support and Little Charmaine had her studio photo appointment at IMM too. After the contest, we went to support Little Charmaine. She looked sooooo... cute in her little pink dress and the cap that she was wearing. I was so engrossed looking at her that when Daddy & Mummy tried to pull me away to do their shopping, I yelled out my displeasure!!! I think the whole 3rd floor could hear me... :-P

On the Road to Recovery

Yippppeee!!! Today I went for a review with the doc & to everyone's relief (esp. me!), doc announced that I am starting to get better. The wheezing in my chest is getting lesser & my breathing is returning to normal. After hearing such great news, I thought to "reward " the doc so I gave her one of my best charming smile & she was soooooooo happy! :->

Anyway, Mummy & Ah Mah is praying very hard (really very hard leh!) for me to get well soon (must really very soon leh!!). The reason behind this is....I am driving them crazy soon!!! :-P

But cannot help leh cos I AM SO BORED!!! Everyday cannot go out. keep facing the four walls, the same toys & the same Mummy & Ah Mah! How not to get bored???? So..... while I'm trying to get well at the best speed that I can, please bear with me, my dearest Mummy & Ah Mah. And like the song of Ah Du that Daddy always sing... "si ge zi, jian chi dao di..." :-P

Just when everyone thought that I am getting well, I took a turn for the worse. I got slightly breathless yesterday night & Mummy thought that she should bring me to the doc again to be safe. It turned out that I got bronchitis!!! Doc says that we are lucky that I was discovered early & she gave more medicine to clear the lungs.. YUCKS!! I was so unhappy with the medicine that I kept crying for Mummy to stop feeding me but she just kept on feeding. I think I cried too much as I suddenly vomitted. Luckily most of it was the phlegm & I felt slightly better & Mummy comforted me with neh-neh & off to dreamland to recuperate....zzz....

Today Mummy brought me to the nice Doc Tan @ Rivervale Mall cos' my flu & cough is still not ok yet. Doc says that it was a nasty flu & gave Mummy some medicine to make them go away. I know it is for my good but I just can't stand the taste of medicine...YUCKS!!

Anyway, the medicine makes me drowsy and I was sleeping away (and coughing away once in a while in dreamland...) the whole afternoon. Talk about a meaningful day spent! Hiah...just hope the flu & cough will go away soon and I can go jalan jalan again.....zzzzzz.....

Today I fell sick... Initially I happily went out with Mummy and family for a nice dim sum buffet and later a free photoshoot session that Mummy got from her magazine subscription.

But I started feeling cold and uncomfortable and I think I was obvious as Daddy and Mummy started feeling my head. I overheard them saying to PoPo that I am having a fever and all of a sudden, the shopping trip was cut short. Everyone was rushing home and once we reached home, PoPo took a queer looking thing and put it under my armpit. I was so uncomfortable with the thing and tried to move it away but PoPo held my arms tightly. I heard PoPo exclaimed that my temperature was 39 degrees and before I know it, I was on the way to KKH as it was Sunday night and there was no doc except the 24 hours ones.

After seeing the nice doc and having some awful tasting medicine, Daddy and Mummy brought me home to sleep. I was so uncomfortable that I keep crying the whole night but Mummy, Daddy and Ah Mah stayed up to take care of me. I had to take the awful medicine every four hours and boy! how I hated it!! YUCKS!!

Today Daddy & Mummy brought me to KKH for the Best Breastfed Baby Contest preliminaries. When we arrived, we saw sooo...many other babies and I just can't help staring at them. I was actually very tired and "stoned" cos I woke up very early (contest jitters, maybe??). But luckily we met Godpa, Godma, Xavier gor-gor and Charmaine. I felt energized immediately upon seeing Xavier gor-gor's hair. :-P

Saw two nice aunties whom Mummy says is the judges when we went into the judging room. They played with me while asking Mummy some questions. Then they ask Mummy to latch me on. But the toy car that I was holding on fell to the floor and my attention was on it so I didn't notice Mummy. When I finally latch on, the auntie look on a while and said we are ok to go back. I was just starting to enjoy the neh-neh and they want me to let go....FAT CHANCE!! So Mummy had to pry me out....hehe....

The aunties said to wait for letter if we are selected so until then we will just wait.......zzzz....

I realised today that I actually share some similar interests with Daddy. We both like X-box (or rather I am facinated with the controller..) and we are both Star Wars fantics!!! YEAH!! And best of all, Auntie Hua & Uncle Hanpeng are also in the gang. We had such fun listening to the music and watching the movies.

I think Mummy is going to go crazy soon with all that Star Wars tunes that Daddy & Auntie Hua download to their handphones. She is such an anti- Star Wars gal. Well, you got to join them if you can't beat them so hopefully Mummy will join us soon??!!!

Today we return from a 2-day stay at the Madarin Singapore hotel. It was my 1st time to a hotel and wow!!! it was so superb!! As it was just renovated, the rooms that we were in was wonderfully new and beautiful. We also had a great time doing shopping as this is now the Great Singapore Sale season!! YEAH!

Mummy's Day

Daddy explained to me that all the Mummies in the world today celebrate this special day which is dedicated to them. We had an enjoyable day and had a most delicious dinner @ the Esplanade.

However, there was a little something that made Mummy very angry with me.... I bit her...real hard when she is feeding me neh-neh...

well, I know it's wrong of me so I showed my guilt by crying out loud when she smacked & scolded me. But Mummy... my gums were so itchy mah!!!

Today is Mummy's birthday & we went out for a special lunch @ Suntec. Mummy had a special treat from her nail salon which was a discounted lunch & free birthday cake @ this restaurant called the Swiss Culture.

I find the food there fantastic & also, the waiters & waitresses are so friendly. After I finished my food, they played with me while Daddy, Mummy, PoPo & YeeYees all ate their lunch. After lunch, we went shopping, my fav activity!! All in all, I had a great day & so did the others.

Charmaine celebrates her 1st month in advance today. Godpa & Godma invited us all to the celebration party. We arrived just when Little Charmaine is drinking her neh-neh & I was so busy admiring her to notice Godma talking to me. Anyway, it was a enjoyable party & I think Xavier gor-gor enjoyed it alot too cos there were lotsa other children there to play with him.

Later after the celebration, we all went to Suntec for the IT fair as Auntie Sharon wanted help in choosing a PC. I had so much fun that I was exhausted before we even reached home. I slept in bliss in Daddy's "2nd wife" (his car lah!!) on the way home...zzzzzzzz....
